History of our Church

Almost 50 years ago a small group of Methodist Christians began worshipping at the Yacht Club to start a new outpost to carry out Jesus' Great Commission of making disciples and transforming Cape Coral and the world beyond. You might say they were touching tomorrow... yesterday.

Our lives are made possible by the willing sacrifice of those who came before us. Who of the 40 or so people gathered for the first time in 1962 at the Cape Coral Yact Club could have imagined:
  • That nearly 50 years later almost 500 people would meet at their church each sunday for worship.
  • That dozens of small groups of adults, children and youth would be growing in faith.
  • That the community would know Cape Coral First as 'The church that Loves its Neighbors.'

Touching Tomorrow Today

We are approaching our 50th Anniversary.
It has been nearly 30 years since the Activity Hall was added.
God is calling us to something new...

Click to Enlarge - Remodel In the mid-1970s Cape Coral First began to acquire the properties across SE 41st Street. It has long been a dream for us to use that area to allow our ministries to grow. The newly developed campus master plan approved by our Church Conference encompasses vacating SE 41st Street so that all of our property can be contiguous.

Touching Tomorrow Today includes Phase 1 and the renovation of the Activity Hall into a two story state of the art facility for our children's and youth ministries as well as a Christian preschool.

Take this link to view the presentation on the Preschool and Youth Center financials that was shown at the Town Hall on Sunday, August 22nd.

Future phases would include: Phase 2 and the purchase of the one home on SE41st Street we do not presently own as well as vacating the street and doing necessary site preparation required by the City of Cape Coral including parking lots and storm water retention. Phases 3 and 4 would include two new buildings. A large building would potentially be a Family Life Center with a multipurpose space that could house worship, dining, new sports ministries, and other new ministries. A smaler building could be a much needed new administration building, allowing the present space to be used for classrooms.
